Edvard Munch's Madonna brings incredible £1.3m record at Bonhams

It's now the most expensive print ever sold in the UK, and the second most expensive in the world

An impression of Edvard Munch's controversial work Madonna has sold for an amazing £1,252,000 at Bonhams - twice its lower estimate of £500,000. 

Another Munch image, Vampire II, sold in Oslo in 2007 at the height of the market for around £1,256,000.

Treasures from Princess Diana's family estate star at Christie's

This week, a fascinating variety artwork and heirlooms from Princess Diana's family home raised £21.1m ($31.1m) following after a three-day auction, as part of Sotheby's and Christie's Master Paintings Week.
