Born in Cornwall, Ontario in 1934, Fernand Labelle moved to Quebec in 1968. A graduate in political science, economics, and contemporary French literature, he left a career as a professor to devote himself to painting. Influenced by the work of Van Gogh he expresses, with passion and in an impressionistic style, the nature of the Laurentians.
