Frances Farrand Dodge was a painter and illustrator originally from Michigan, Dodge studied under Frank Duveneck, L.H. Meakin, Herman Wessel, and Joseph Pennell, and at the Art Student's League in New York. She exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Pennsylvania Academy, and the National Association of Women Artists.
